If you are too old....

If you are too old to enjoy hunting, carry a kid and let him/her enjoy our sport. The picture below is of my grandson after his first deer hunt. The weather did not cooperate (86 dgrees). My grandson did have a great experience however; since we did bag a large male bobcat. Good shooting....James

Awesome cat, handsome grandson. Take it from a guy who's first hunt was with Grandpa, he will always cherish that day. My hat's off to you.

I begged my grandpa to take me to the family hunt but alas I was just alittle to young but I would have been happy just to watch.I encourage anyone to take a youngster in the field if only to watch and then later participate. In the state of new york, they enacted a law preventing anyone under the age of 12 to handle or shoot a firearm.

I never got the opportunity to hunt deer with my grandpa, but did get to help him thin the turtle population in the pond behind his house, or shoot a coon the dogs would tree during the night. Great memories, glad you are making the same for your grandkids, Kudos. Now he gets to learn at least one way to skin a cat, Congrats.

Good for you guys. I never got to hunt with my grandpa but I sure wish I could have. Can't wait till I can take my grand kids hunting someday god willing.

Rick, I think I have reached that point. If memory serves you are about my age ....perhaps a year or two older. Perhaps you are better perserved than I. Good shooting....James

Hell Bells...I think I'm older than everybody these days! But I do know what you are experiencing as I enjoy sitting with the grandchildren and teaching them when/how to shoot! I called six gobblers up for them last Spring and enjoyed every minute of it! I got to get down that way and visit my buddy Marion Collier real soon. Been a while since we had lunch together!

Take care!

Rick, if the invite is still open, I will bring my Dasher up to your place and see if the 105 Bergers will reach 1000 yards. James

That'll work but recontact me after Thanksgiving! Turmoil here! Wife's brother is having stint implant reworked today and his 55 year old wife is dying from pancreatic and lung cancer as I type this! Right now....things aren't very pleasant to say the least! :'( :(That rifle/cartridge will do it!

If it doesn't it isn't the bullets at fault! I shoot those regularly in my 6XC out to 1,000 & love the accuracy.
