Ideas/Suggestions?

Gents,
I'm giving more serious though about building a BR gun this winter. I will be shooting 100-200-300 yds. I've decided on the following:

6mmbr
McMillan/Richard's,I like walnut) stock
Lilja barrel
Leupold scope

Trigger?
Twist?
Freebore? If the chamber will accept the Sierra 107-gr, will it accept a lighter/shorter bullet? Problem?
Rifle weight/class for a new shooter to start in?

Thanks for any and all help. Ed

If you are planning to compete in registered BR matches, I would suggest the following changes:

6mm PPC - arguably mlre accurate and easier to get tuning advise from fellow competitirs

Fiberglass stock - walnut stock won't work for 10.5 lb gun

Lilja barrels may be OK, but you almost never see them in shot range BR equipment lists.

13.5 to 14" twist and a Jewell trigger are standard. Bullets are in the 62 - 68gr range. Build a 10.5 lb 6mm and you will be able to shoot it in any and all classes.

BURRIS 8-32 Black Diamond is too heavy for a 10.5lb rifle.
