IBS 600 and 1000 Yard Brian Dent Memorial Georgia Long Range Championship.

We have decided that our regular Georgia State Match will be the Brian Dent Memorial Georgia Long Range Championship . Just to give everyone a quick background on the year . When Tom decided to build a Long Range Benchrest range in a Tennille Ga . Brian Dent step up to the plate and did what all good men should do and that was help his neighbor out . Next to Tom Brian has more hours in grading at the range than most get in 12 months let along 6 . He worked day and night to help us work never ask for a dime . Little did we know that a man that had become mine and others best friend would be buried today . Brian found out he had Cancer in September and passed away from a stroke Tuesday he said the cancer would not kill him and he was right . He leaves behind a beautiful and loving wife as well as two daughters that are just as beautiful and loving as well as a granddaughter that’s on the way . With all of this said here what is going to happen on 11/7/2020 and 11/8/2020 we are going to honor our friend the best way we know how and thats to have a great time shooting on the range they he helped build and we are going to raise some money for the charity of the family choice as well as help the family if they need it . So here is the plan and it may change some as we get closer we will shoot 600 yards on Saturday and as soon as the 600 yard match is over we are going to do a Deer Hunter challenge and maybe even a Turkey Hunters challenge we will have more info on that as we go . I know it’s in the middle of the rut in Ga but do like Brian did go hunt in the morning about 30 minutes kill one and enjoy the day. Then on Sunday we will finish with a 1000 yard match and then agg the scores and groups from both 600 and 1000 and name the winner of the first annual Brian Dent Memorial Georgia Long Range Bench Rest Champion.
Sorry for another long post it’s hard to describe how much Brian meant to all of us . Please keep Brian’s family in your prayers as well as Tom he lost more than a friend he lost his right hand man when it came to working and talking hunting and fishing.

From the sound of the phone conversations I’ve had recently, this event is looking to be well attended!

A big thank you to everyone that has come out and shown support for the RW&B in the first of many years. For those of you that are traveling this weekend for the first time or plan on coming next year, you are in for a treat. It is honestly a true family atmosphere, great range, BS being passed between each other and don’t forget about the shooting.

The work will continue, Lord knows David and Donna are 2 of the most special people on this planet. They do so much for this range, this sport and all of us, that we will forever be indebted! Tom has stepped up in ways that no one could’ve ever dreamed of. He had a vision and has absolutely knocked it out of the park already but has much more on the horizon that will blow you away. Last but most certainly not least, Brain, God rest his soul, worked countless hours on heavy machinery, out of the goodness of his heart to help in ways that no one would’ve been able to do. Thank you to the above mentioned and the others that have lended a hand or supported in other ways!

With all of that said, it’s time to have a blast this weekend! The catfish on Friday will be the best you’ve ever eaten and I personally guarantee that! And most of you have already had the phenomenal Low Country Boil that’s in store for Saturday. Pack up your trucks/cars, come on down to Ga, finish out this crazy shooting season and let’s enjoy this wonderful place the way Tom and Brian envisioned it, just a few short months ago.

Well everything is about ready for a big weekend with a lot of shooting planed . Here is our schedule for the next 3 days.
Range will Open at 9am and close at 430pm on Friday for sight in .
Saturday range opens at 630am until 6pm
Registration for 600 yard match ends at 730 am
Registration for hunters challenge starts at 130 match starts at 2 pm
Registration for Turkey shoot starts at 230 pm Match starts at 300pm
Chef Wilson will have a luscious meal prepared around 5pm
Sunday Range opens at 630 am registration ends at 730 am
1000 yard match starts at 8 am following match awards will be presented for Brian Dent. Championship and scholarship will be presented as well.
I want to go ahead and Thank Everyone that is participating in this special event . I hope you enjoy the range and everything. If you see something that needs changing please let us know .
