IBS 2020 1000 yard Nationals

As many of you have probably all ready heard The 2020 1000 yard Nationals has been Cancelled for Hawks Ridge Gun Club in North Carolina . The uncertainty of what phase the Governor will have the state in and the possibilities of going back into a stay at home order the board at Hawks Ridge decided it was in the best interest of the shooters to cancel and allow another club to do nationals if possible . This will also help with travel plans time off from work etc. What I do know is Vapor Trail Valley has stepped up to the plate and has agreed to do Nationals. TomE will be making the announcement in the next few days of date and times . Thank You Vapor Trail Valley and IBS shooters for your help and support through these difficult times.

I have been on the phone off and on all week with gentleman throughout the east coast that cannot wait to come and support TomE. 1000 yard IBS nationals seems to be building up to a large and extremely talented crowd! I, personally, cannot wait to see and shoot against all of you.

Sorry guys, for the delay and not getting on here. As usual we are running wide open preparing for a 2 day national prs match aug 8 and 9

We are looking forward to the Nats, I hope by the end of this weekend to have a post up, with all the pertinent info. Times, schedule, meals, fees, deadline on entries, motels, air bnb, camping etc.

I will say this, the crap that is happening throughout the country does not bother me, but if you are feeling bad or possibly around someone that has had it. Please stay home. I was at a match last week with 200 plus people, it was a great event, no worries and fun was had by all.

Is there a hotel/motel that is being used by competitors?

When and where do the entries need to be submitted? Cost for the match?

How many rounds should I plan to have loaded for LG & HG (same gun for me)?

Please forgive the dumb questions, but this would be my 1st Nationals and first time to Vapor Trail Area.

Lodging - Bethany has a Super 8 that several of us stayed in a few weeks ago for the 3-day 1000 yard match. A Quality Inn also. 45 minutes to the range.
Others went to Chillicothe Super 8, a bit further.

If they have the range open Friday, recommend taking advantage of that to get your elevation dialed in. Clays on berm in front of/below the targets. And more clays on a berm between targets - I only shot at these during the match after getting close on the low berm to prevent a sighter ending up on paper. No steel plates for sighters.
Bring lots of ammo. 3 LG (5 shots each), 3 HG (10 shots each). One target shot per bench setup. So use your 600 yard sighter experience to come up with a plan.
Can't wait to get back there for the Nationals. Tom, Sara and crew do a great job.
