I would like a brief rundown on various 6 mm rounds

Eric, I guess if you can read the wind and know how to dance with it and round will work. I see even a 308 will work and that is way down hill from a Dasher. I sure did my share of shooting with a 308 at 1K with a sling and didn't have much trouble shooting clean at 1K and i sure didn't have 50 power scope, 20 lb. gun and a rest. F class isn't the only game in town, and if you get the good relays you look like a star if you don't you end up right above the match director, luck of the draw. Just like Perry if you were a big gun you got the targets along the tree line , wind wasn't a big issue like out in the middle. Heavy high BC. bullets do help over come missing a condition change.... jim

ALL of this is so true. ;)

Johara, sling guys shoot at a 20" 10 ring, we shoot at a 10" 10 ring, 4 times smaller in area.

The problem that a really good wind reader with a Dasher will face is a bunch of really good wind readers with 7mm's or 30 calibers. Even 6.5mm's are struggling to keep up in National F-Open Class competitions against the bigger rounds.

Eric, BR 10 ring is 7" even smaller Than f class. I had a skinny barrel m14 and iron sights, with lake city ammo and i saw 35 shots in the V ring with a m14 at Lackland AFB. inter service match I watched SSGT. Conners shoot 35V's at 1K, thats 35 shots in 10"V ring no 5's so we came a long way...... ...Good thing he doesn't shoot F class..... LOL

No doubt there are great shooters out there.

All I'm saying is that the Dasher is not competitive in LR F-Open class. I don't think a Dasher has ever won a single LR Championship or National Match. Don't get me wrong, feel free to bring your Dasher and try, but plan on going home early! ;)

Eric, I would if i could, but the point i make is a 308 with a 173 grain bullet can do it. Don't believe big high BC. bullets are the holy grail, Highly skilled shooter does come into play. I sit and pick a condition i and shoot them down in that condition it may take 10 min. to run ten and i don't have spotters. If you can't put them in 4" you go home. So i will give you the same opportunity and come to this years National and bring your best stuff. All my load development is at 100 yds. and both shoot in the zeros and we will see...... jim

The point I make is that a 308 with 173 grain bullets CAN NOT do it in LR F-Open, at least not yet. And neither has a Dasher.

BR and F-Open are two different games, we just have to agree on that, and each game has calibers that perform well in that game, but not necessarily in the other.

I don't know BR rules, but I don't think my guns would be legal. I may try it one day though, but if I do, I would build a caliber that's winning BR matches, that's for sure! :)
