Hitman, can you post some pics or video of xp setup? The 6.5 PRC is a reasonable replacement for the Needmore. I have a 6.5/.284 XP-100 handgun (almost exactly the same power as the PRC). I've taken over 500 deer with it out to 565 yds., over 25 African animals including 2 800# kudu at 201 & 365- both 1 shot. These 2 rounds are much improved over the Needmore.
Very cool! Love the handgunsHere's a pic of a 800# East Cape kudu I killed with my SSK XP-100 6.5/.284. It has a Brown Precision stock. I use Burris 3-12 BPLex scopes on all of my long range handguns. This has a SSK T'SOB base, SSK Arrestor brake, and a Douglas barrel. View attachment 1615850This kudu was killed with a 125 Nos. PT at 365 yds. Dropped at the shot. I killed the #2 Cape kudu with this gun & a 130 gr. NOs. AB at 201.
I've taken about 30 game in Africa with it and over 500 deer out to 565, including a 120" Columbia blacktail at 250 yds. There's not hardly any difference between this & the 6.5 PCR. I never feel under gunned with it except on the Dangerous & of Africa which I have with other handguns.

Do you have a problem with Creedmoor's? Lol!My XP is getting 2650-2700 fps depending on bullet with Hybrid.
I have a friend that went elk hunting with his Needmore. Hit it 4 times before it went down. Another friend brought his Needmore to WV to hunt groundhogs & deer. All groundhogs made it to the hole. All deer ran 75-150 yds. A bad shot?? He did a WY pronghorn at 920 with his 7mmSAUM XP & I did a deer in WV with the same gun at 718. We can shoot.
that cartridge must be a BLAST to shoot in a handgunMy XP is getting 2650-2700 fps depending on bullet with Hybrid.

So.... That's a little slower than the 6.5 Creedmoor will push 140gr class bullets in a rifle, and it sounds like you're shooting 125gr to 130gr bullets, which can be pushed a little faster in the same. Those 30 African game animals and 500 deer you shot with that pistol are a great advertisement for what could be done with a basic 6.5 "Needmoor" rifle, or do you just dislike the 6mm version of the creed? I've used one of my Creeds on a few elk as well, no issues to report on that.My XP is getting 2650-2700 fps depending on bullet with Hybrid.

I've only played with one CZ600 in the store and it was fine, but I seem to remember the stock being kind of flexy. Seems like they really haven't taken off since Cz fumbled the switch barrel feature at launch.I am looking at very reasonably priced CZ600 alpha in 6.5PRC at local dealer.
With regard to elevation balllistics is great. In terms of energy it’s more than enough for a deer.
I am big Mauser fan and cannot believe how Blaser Group destroyed this brand. M18 is a disaster. Sauer 100 is also designed as "Sauer for poor people". Big no no to both. I think the CZ would be great if there was any aftermarket chassis for this. Considering there is none, I think that the only reasonable alternative here in Europe is a Tikka.I've only played with one CZ600 in the store and it was fine, but I seem to remember the stock being kind of flexy. Have you looked at rifles like the Sauer 100, Mauser M18 or even CVA cascade? Might be worth checking out, all available in the PRC and have good reputations, I think the 100 and M18s are related designs, sometimes can be found for a deal and have 3 position safeties if you like that option.

I've not heard anything bad about the Sauer 100, not counting it being designed for the poors, can you elaborate? If you want aftermarket then yes, the Tikka would be the clear winner, at least here in the US, don't know about Europe. I have a Tikka in 300 WSM that I turned into a 7mm PRC, and the only thing I'd warn about is if you want to run scopes with a large windage turret in low or medium rings, the fat WSMs and PRC cases tend to eject too high and can impact the windage turret and bounce back into the action. It's been an issue with both the WSM and PRC case and the scopes I'm using, so I'm having to go to with higher rings than I'd like and alter the comb to account. Was never an issue in the many standard size cartridge Tikkas I've owned, or the .270 WSM that I had back when I was using smaller, less featured scopes.I am big Mauser fan and cannot believe how Blaser Group destroyed this brand. Is the stock on the rifle pictured a Stockys carbon fiber. Pics of the Tikka with 7PRC barrel and aftermarket stock, they are a good basis for customizing if you want something other than 700 pattern.
