I NEED ADVICE

on accuracy nodes for the 6mm Berger 105 VLD and Sierra 107 MK.

244 Ackley. My "standard" load has always been 48.0 grains H4831 for a velocity around 3050 fps. This has always shot well for me. I just made a new barrel. 30 inch. My standard load chronos about 3350.

So, do any of you guys know, is there an accuracy node at around that velocity? Will the Bergers take the strain? I was going to cut a couple of inches off the barrel but can't put it back on if things turn to $hit.

Not interested in changing powder, primers, bullets, etc.

So, I need advice. Anybody???

Hi Ray the 107gr Sierra's in a 243AI work well at between 3200-3250. Im sure with your experience you will get them working. I dont know if the Bergers will hold togethor but the Sierra's should. Mabe try a BArrel tuner on it i have them on most of my rifles now and they realy work well to tune the barrel to the load. If you have low ES and SD's i would put a tuner on it and try to tune it to that load and see how you go.

I am going to try the Sierra, Lapua, Clinch River all at full throttle. I am usually very conservative in my loads but everyone says the 105s and 107s will shoot all the way up to 3400 or 3500 so i'm going to try it. I will leave the Bergers for now as I don't think they will hold together much beyond 3150.

Thanks for the advice

Ray
