I need advice: Which spotting scope?

Take a look at the Nikon Prostaff 20x60x82mm/w angled eye piece. I purchased on over the winter and have used it this spring for 1000 yard br comp. Believe it or not, but you can see .308 bullet holes at that distance when the conditions are right. The clarity and brightness are as good as anything I have looked through including the top shelf stuff.

You haven't given us a clue about that, so we don't have nearly enough data to help you.

I'm going to guess that his screen name tells us that.

One is a small lightweight pack scope. The other a huge honkin heavy rig in need of a stout tripod. One is straight body, the other angled. Complete apples vs oranges there.

Its obvious that you are looking for moderately priced glass. Bushnell is an excellent choice for that price range. I have a 20-60x80 Bushnell spotter with ED glass for sale. If you are interested, shoot me a PM.

If you are on a budget check out Konus 80mm or 100mm for target work, a little large to carry afield.

In which case you should get the scope linked below, so you can see what you're getting into: http://www.amazon.com/Welch-Allyn-KleenSpec-Disposable-WEL53110/dp/B0026NJVL8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1370527806&sr=8-6&keywords=anoscope

LOL! ;D

If those are the only 2 options you will want to go with the 20-60X80 Legend Ultra HD, but since hunting and game spotting will be included I would look at a straight eye piece over the angled. The reason for this is that it is much easier to locate a target through the scope and translate it into spotting it with your eye a straight eye piece. Now if you were primarily target shooting the Angled would be a better choice.

After saying that let me say that you can truly do much better than Bushnell for similar money. I have had a 30 year relationship working, selling and buying from Bushnell. 30 years ago they were a wonderful company that made great products. However they have slowly fallen to being the maker of cheep bulk pack binos at Walmart and the quality of all of their products have also fallen in a similar fashion.
