I made that, show me yours

I though this would be a fun thread after replying to mike a and his idea on a a way to beat the heat while shooting. I have a thin wallet and big needs so I have to get creative. Here’s my homemade concentricity gauge I made after seeing the price of the one with a wheel (21st century?) I used 4 marbles, wood glue, a nail with two holes to set the cartridge up to check the loaded round or the neck and $40 for a cheap feeler gauge and magnetic arm. It’s no Myotukarateiforgetitsname but it really works well, checked with marked feeler thickness set.
Cons- not very portable
Pros- price and I did that!

Who else has a homemade tool or shooting thing they have made or improved on? I know that there are a lot of smart people on this forum with the capacity to build or invent their own widget. Let’s see yours...

I too built myself one (used a very similar design) and it does the job well enough.
I also built a tool to check the thickness of the brass. It locates the thin side of my 30.06 cases.
I could just buy better brass but I’m cheap and I had everything I need for the build just laying around.

You guys are singing my song! I am constantly making my own reloading tools or modifying older tools (or rifle building, or optics mounts, etc.) for different purposes. Keep it up!

Fit, form, and function, you checked all the boxes. Has the appearance of some of my carpentry work. I salute your home engineering.

Yikes that’s ugly! Sorry. Love your trailer & doggy. Mike

Here's a few, some "made",most just a sort of adaptive use. The grayish mat in the foreground is or was an unexpected "find". It's "nubuck" leather, and is so nice as a general purpose gun/loading/widget covering. Has exactly the right amt. of grip,so hard to describe..... you can roll a ball bearing or case on it and it slows to a stop. Cheap too,any full line leather supply will have it.

Towards the OP,that's a B&S #730 with a best test for checking runout. Metal, plates set the space/squareness on the bronze pcs.
