I have a benchrest question

ARA .22LR 50 yard targets specifically.
What are some reasons to have an adjustable magnification scope for a fixed distance ? I can understand the ocular and the turrets and the parallax adjustments.

Other than possibly turning down the magnification when mirage gets up I believe it comes down to personal preference.

Turning down the magnification results in a wider field of view, often times this simplifies initial set-up.

I've only had fixed 32 & 45 scopes. But i agree with BKA.
