I don't mean to hoard but it is just in my nature!

My local sporting goods shop called me with a heads up they were getting two eight pounds of varget in and 10lb.s of 4350, I broke all the speed laws in the county getting there the next day,..........Bought it all!!!! couldn't help myself, probably have enough for this season and half of next but just couldn't help myself, now can't wait for some H-4895 and H-4831, although I have a lot of both more is always better! If your patient and willing to wait these deals do come by, oh 183.50 per 8lb jug, that's last years price ;)

Hey Hoarder..... why aren't you in Missoula?
Derek,
Stupid wedding!!! I know I know!!! anyway you probably won't get this before tomorrow morning, but I want a text tomorrow that says you, Tom or Leo just smoked the old world record!! That will make my whole day, really gonna miss you guy's tomorrow!!! I may burn some powder on my own range, been thinking of building me a new 6brdx on a pack around rifle so I may just go buy me a Tikka T3 light 22-250 or something tomorrow and while I am waiting for a new Krieger for it I might come over your way and burn the factory barrel up on vermin ;)

good for you preparing for the future is smart i think . we all try to save money for rainy days dont see alot of difference regards shooter63

One of our local shops had a load of powder come in yesterday. Mostly one-pounders though.

It's starting to look up.

Just please don't become a PROFITEER...If you can't use it, sell it to someone that needs it...at the price you paid..don't screw a fellow shooter...

Wayne,
I believe you are entitled to do with it what you choose. If you double your paid price evidently both you and the buyer are happy or the transaction wouldn't have happened. eww1350, you are only screwed if you let it happen and you cry about it. I don't understand this thinking, just don't buy it!!, if you feel like he is taking advantage of you.
People have been gripping about rimfire ammo, well I got on Dan Killough's waiting list and in 2 weeks received 2 bricks of Eley Target. That is Killough Shooting Sports. Yes, Eley is more expensive, but $55. a brick is not bad for high quality ammo.
I really get tired of the whining. Just in the last month I accumulated 2250 rounds of 223. I have a little under $1200 invested. This includes brass, primers, Berger 77grain bullets, powder, 46 plastic MTM cartridge boxes, shipping to me and shipping to and from NC where it was loaded. So don't tell me about shortages. Start an active search for components on the web and buy them instead of sitting around playing on the computer and whining.
Well, I know I just made a few of you happy, but I found if you look hard enough people will help you. Some folks out there actually have an abundance of supplies to share with you if you start looking.

Wayne: My thoughts have always been: To someone who fires a couple of box's of ammo a year, anything more than a few box's of ammo on hand is "hoarding".

To those of us who fire 5000+ per year, it's a normal supply, be it loaded factory ammo, like 22 rimfire, or the components to make the ammo.

I get 233 rounds out of a 1# can of Varget. That would be about 2 to 3 weeks supply. I now buy in 8# jugs whenever possible. Is that hoarding? Not to me it isn't, and since I'm the one paying for it, I'll be the judge.

Wayne has helped me sooo much in this sport of shooting. I am sure that Wayne will not be selling his stash unless he is to help out a friend in need.

Once he buys it, it is his property and he is free to sell it at whatever darned price he wants. Its the american way and Cuba is a great place for people who disagree can move to:-)

Thanks Guy's,.... I have so many different rifles that Varget works so well in I will use it up with no trouble, I told my supplier if he gets more put my name on it, if you all could see my place you would understand I never sell anything and neither has any of my family before me, I live on my grandfathers old ranch and he passed February 17 1968 and I still have most of the stuff that he left here, the state highway came through in 1939 and he bought a 1935 Chev pickup so he could get back and forth to town, .....I still have it! my house is full of reloading stuff, have a dedicated building for reloading and a old trailer house I moved in here for a storage shed for loading stuff, it's ridiculous and I just keep buying but I do use it, I can shoot out to a mile here and shoot 1000 yards on a daily basis so I go through a lot of components, I never sell anything but I give stuff away when someone needs something all the time, been thinking of starting to sell a few things that I will never use, but powder isn't one of them, and I believe once it's your you can sell it for whatever you want, when buying I never haggle on the price I buy it or walk away and expect you to do the same if I was to sell something. I guess more than bragging about my hoarding problems is I am starting to see stuff moving again, been a while since I saw 8lb. jugs of Varget, also bought 1000 168 vld's in 7mm, right off the shelf same day and been lucky to see just one box on there so maybe things are getting a bit better I don't know or maybe I just been in the right place at the right times but I am hoping that things are getting a bit better.

Wayne,

If you think that's hoarding you haven't seen my loading room. See, back in the fall I decided to look ahead a bit and bought powder, primers, bullets and brass before all the craziness started. To say I bought a lot would be mild. Some of it I knew I wouldn't use. But, as it turns out some of my friends have recently been in need and we were able to trade for things I can use.

My thought was I suffered through Clinton, both times. I survived Obumo the first time and was darn sure gonna be well set for the next 10 or so years...

I say GOOD ON YA! And happy shooting man!

Thats good bozo cause about a year ago I bought 4 jugs of rel-15 and 8 jugs of h335 and 6 jugs of blc-2 amongst other powders I have bought and 10000 primers last year along with alot of match bullets and hunting bullets.I even bought 3 more presses along with 2 gracey trimmers etc.So I guess I will concede I am a hoarder also.

if you buy to use, (some of us go through alot) you are not a hoarder. if you buy to resell at an inflated price you are a profiteer not a hoarder. if you are buying to fill a closet, safe, bunker etc. with no intention of actually using you are a hoarder. those folks are the ones creating the shortages. they are insatiable. had a customer looking for 9mm. found out he had 4000+ in a closet. he was looking for more. i asked what he shot, reply was i don't own a gun. he was saving it to barter when things went south. i pointed out that if things get that bad people will just shoot you and take it. seems he never considered that might happen. started to think about buying a gun to protect his stash. insanity!
