I am so happy I had to tell someone!

I realize the general interest in this forum is at a much higher level than production rifles and low-cost triggers, however I am so excited about the "new" trigger-pull on the 270 I carry daily in my truck that I just had to tell someone.

That said, I traded into a like new synthetic stocked Weatherby Vanguard in 270 Winchester. Truly a low cost rifle. But shooting it off the bench with factory ammo, it produces under 1/2" groups consistently. The only downside with the rifle is was the trigger. The factory trigger just about had me pulling double hernias to fire a round. And since over half of my shots must be fired offhand here on the property, the rifle was about useless.

So I sprung for a $99 Timney trigger. It was the best thing I have done in a month, and has made the rifle into the "problem solver" I hoped it would be.

Thanks for enduring my exuberance.

Gene,
Are you kidding me?? this was a great story, no arguing,no I am smarter then you, just a nice story about a inexpensive rifle that shoots great and even greater now with a new trigger,...how much better can it get! Incidentally I have the exact same rifle and it absolutely loves the inexpensive 130 grain speer bt spitzers =, usually around 1/2" @ 100 yards as well, ugly rifle but shoots well, I didn't buy a Timney just had the factory one tuned up, not as nice as yours but works okay. Anyway congrats and thanks for sharing, if you get a animal post it or some groups, I like stories like this, take care and good luck.

I just installed a straight shoed trigger in a remmy for a friend and it is just as nice as any quality trigger I have ever owned. At first I didnt like the straight shoe design, but after shooting it,I really really like it.It breaks like glass.I urge others to give timney another try if you had a bad experience when they were under their original leadership as quality went down in my opinion. The new company is aggressive and the prices are right.
