Hunting Rifle Paint Job

Sponge job, your imagination is the only limiting factor.....

No, Krylon or Rustoleum works. Top it off with several light coats matte clearcoat, then hit it with a scotchbrite pad to knock down the shine.

The little packs of sea sponges at Wally World are supposedly the best because of the irregularities, but I used an old sponge & tore off odd chunks.
Thanks!

Various camo paint cans, lay on the light colors first, then the dark, in moderation, over it. I spray mine after wiping gun down with acetone or brake cleaner. I use a nylon laundry bag stretched over a small photo frame to give it the mottled look...kinda sorta digital camo. Then I hold a leaf or fern (plastic) and spray the leaf...leaves (pun intended) a leaf shaped outline.

Ive done two. Just remember to avoid the bolt, the action and muzzle, as well as covering the optics and any markings like scope power, etc.

I've painted a truck load of stocks using Alfs method and a bunch of my own. I've used sponges, a cargo net, just laid rope across them, leaves off trees and plants in the yard. The possibilities are endless. There was a guy out of Texas that I got web paint from. Dr. Paint or something like that. He had all different colors. You can't really mess up but if you do, just light sand and start over.

Thompson Center Omega that I painted with sponges and Krylon paint. Has to be at lease a 5-6 year old paint job. This is my Go-To rifle for BP season and its held up really well. What looks like chips on the butt stock is actually a couple of spots of black paint. Even fools me some times. LOL
