Excellent condition, hard to find model. Hunter arms Hunter Special was a well designed high qaulity shotgun made by the same experienced craftsmen who made the most expensicve LC Smith side lock shotguns. It carries expensive features such as strong proof tested barrels, sturdy walnut stock, matching forend, both nicely finished and hand checkered and the famous LC Smith rotary bolt.

Total production during 1937 - 1945 were 5,971 and 2,486 were made in 12 GA. Barrels 28" were fitted on 1,184 of the 12 GA Hunter special hotguns. A totaly of 665 Hunter Specials were made in all guage in 1940 and only 172 of the 665 were made in 12GA with 28" barrels and were identical to this gun with a serial #186179
