HS stock and bottom metal

If you have a setup on the HS stock that is for a 308 and you want to drop a different barreled action in their and shoot a 223 do you need to change out the spring follower only to shoot 223 out of it. If you wanted to put a detachable mag system on it in the future which 1s would work and how much modifying would be needed.

Hey Dan,
If you are using a HS Precision bottom on a short action Remington 700, all I did with mine, was to use the appropriate magazine from HS Precision. I use either the .308 or .22-250 magazine for the .308 based cartridges or the.223 magazines in my.223 with the same bottom from HS Precision. In other words, the bottom metal is interchangeable for short action cartridges all you need to do is use the appropriate magazine. Hope this helps.
