Howa Barreled Actions 6mm Creedmoor

Hi new to the forum but I am currently looking to build a 6mm Creedmoor. I’ve been considering using Howas 1500 barreled action but I’ve never owned or shot a Howa and am curious how reliable they are when it comes to consistent accuracy? Would be willing to hear any opinions on other possibly better options to use as the barrel and action for the 6mm Creedmoor.

Sounds good! I’m currently waiting on McMillan to get back with me on ordering the stock I want so if you get yours put together soon let me know how she shoots!

I have one that has the factory stock. Which I don't care for so will replace with a laminated Boyds this winter.
The rifle is stupid accurate with the 105-108 class bullets and H4350.
It is set up perfect, mag length allows longer seating (2.88" I think) and is throated perfect.
7.5 twist barrel looks very nice through the scope
Did a trigger job on the 2 stage Hact trigger and it's a decent trigger at about 1.75 pounds now.

Every Howa I have ever messed with has shot very well with a little load development. Nice little rifles for the money.

We just finished my dads Howa bbled action in 6.5/55. The first 2 loads thru the rifle were .8 and 1.2" at 100 yards. They were just 2 loads picked out of the book 2 different powder and one bullet. No brass prep. just loaded and shot.

Hey JG: What projectile did you select? I really wanted to shoot Berger 105 Hybrids through mine but my barrel hated them. I went through almost 300 before giving up with 3 different powders - H100V, RL16 and H4350. The first loads using the Hornady 108 ELD-Ms and H4350 were better than the best loads using the Bergers. My chamber is throated very long. I could not touch the lands with the Berger 105s and have enough bearing surface in the case. The Hornady 108s have been great and consistent and best of all, a good seating depth turned out to be just a few thousandths under magazine length.

Sorry Henryrifle I don't believe I can help you out dads was a 6.5/55 not a 6cm. I was just giving statement to the Howa 1500 bbled actions. If you do want to know they were Speer 140 gr. Hotcor bullets

I have one, Howa 1500 with a 26" heavy barrel in an Oryx chassis. I am quite pleased with it. Here is a 5-shot group at 1000 yards using factory Hornady 108gr Match ammo. I expect even better with handloading which I am starting now (for this rifle).

I am also using a suppressor but with the Hornady ammo it groups about the same with or without the suppressor.

8 shots or 5? Or do the hits outside of the group not count?

I think my shooting partner shot those. One of them may have been mine. If so it was not part of the same string.
