How to remove pinned scope base (Borden BRM)

I always thought the pins were for recoil help. Are there no screws used to hold it down?

Frank

According to Borden's website, the recoil lug is pinned. However, from this image of a BRM action without a scope rail, the holes for the scope rail are clearly threaded, meaning it should be attached with screws, probably with an Allen or Torx head.

GPalman, we are talking scope mount not recoil lug. But you are correct ref recoil lugs.

After removing the screws it may be necessary to install some rings on the rail to aid in the removal. Adding rings will give enough leverage to remove it.
