how to reduce ES most important things

Prs is not an accuracy game like br is. Es matters none when your heart rate is 155 and youre shooting with a bipod out of a culvert at a 2moa target. Technique and shooting form matters way more along with having an action that feeds like a hot knife thru butter.

I don's shoot PRS so I didn't pay too close attention but about an 1.5 MOA, maybe 2. --Jerry

In my experience, your ES & SD numbers shrink at the same rate your group size shrinks if proper load development is done. Yes, there can be anomalies, but if you use a combo of results on the target, chrono numbers etc.. things fall into place.
I'm with dmoran here, if you are dropping shots that are ammo related, why are you there shooting?
There seems to be a common new trend with the prs crowd in that tight es numbers equates to hits on target because vertical is maintained at distance, and any miss is from outside interference. And buying high end scale systems to facilitate to the half kernel charge weights. I guess if I build a new rifle, I'm not about to shoot a load that is that charge specific.
I'm not about to tell you what brass prep needs to done, or what lengths you need to go to be successful, but ignoring too many factors will have you out of the game before the whistle.
If someone outshoots me because of my ammo, although a convenient excuse, I'll be revisting my practices.

Not uncommon to have shots at 1000yd. And "know your limit" stages where you shoot on progressively smaller targets for ; higher points, until the aw crap missed one for a penalty. Competition is tight to the extent that one cannot afford a miss because of ammo, esp when the stressors and positions don't afford much margin for error. In terms of es if the node is adequate then improvement may not pay off very much; but only the target will answer that question. At my age I enjoy shooting "tactical light" comps, all prone, and don't know of anyone who settles for anything less than very good loads. Don't think I would go as far as neck turning as some do!
