how to: lock the zero on a march x 10-60x

yes i read the instructions
yes i followed the instructions
BUT
THE TURRET STILL TURNS LOWER than my 100yd zero
( if i run the lock up, and tighten it will prevent upward rotation, but not on the bottom)

Which 10-60X do you have? The 10-60X52 or the 10-60X56? I am unfamiliar with the former, I have been shooting with the latter for almost 3 years now. I have the 0-set at just below 600 yards; I shoot only 600 or 1000 yards. The 0-set works fine.

The newer models with the shuriken locks have a 0-set that is extremely easy to set/remove. All you need is a coin or a very strong fingernail.

On my 10-60x56 HM, my rifle zeroed more than two turns from the bottom. I first adjusted the main turret by loosening the top part and aligning the '0' marking on the turret at 100 yard zero position. I recall the entire screw has to come off, and then lift the turret out, and place back in with correct alignment. Tighten back the top screw. In attached pic, this is in blue writing.

Then..

Below the main turret, there is a ring, which has 2 small hex screws on the sides. Rotate it upwards (after loosening the hex screws) to bring closer to main turret. This will limit the downward travel of main turret below the desired zero, and essentially becomes a 'zero stop'.
In attached pic, this is in black writing.

The new 10x60x56 HM's come with a small tool with blade
for use with the caps and mini allen wrench for the stop. It's in
one handy little unit and easy to lose. I found in the package
a loose key ring. May be a good idea to hook it to my car keys !!
I use a 100 yard zero. and where I set the stop. I ran it up and back
down to the stop. Works good if you don't use gorilla force to push
down the stop. Those 2 set screws are tiny.

The little tool is supposed to be on a keyring. I have mine with my car fob, (no key, it's a push start.)

The new 8-80X56 HM WA Majesta has the shuriken locks I described earlier. Toolless 0-set.

Shooting them side by side testing loads in the same conditions,
albeit miserable conditions this past month, and I mean, cold, rain,
mist, fog, mirage, and lack of coffee......

#1.....March HM

#2.....Night Force Comp

#3.....Vortex GE

Note......My Burris F-Class would have been #3 but loaned it out to
a friend and 1000 yard Ridgway competitor.
