How to get all the same lot # bullets

I know components are far and few between currently, and the next 10 months I should have a .223 ready to go.

Are there any online retailers that would be able to sell Berger bullets all in the same lot number? Ideally I would like to buy around 4K although it seems the only thing in stock nowadays is the 100 quantity
 
@McStocks mcgeestocks.com is really good about selling same lot numbers and they always do their best with quantities (usually more than most) but I don't really know of anyone out there that will sell you 4k same lot at one time of Berger right now unless maybe it's a weird sku that nobody wants.

FWIW, having just done a tour of the Berger facility I can tell you that there is NO rhyme or reason as to how large any lot of any bullet is. They assign a new lot number ANYTIME a machine stops so some lots could be 500k and others could be 2 mil.

The general approach used by most of the larger online vendors is that they will alert you if the they cannot fufill your bullet order from a single Lot#. Nonetheless, I always order quantities of 1000+ bullets via phone and verbally confirm they are all the same Lot#. Better safe than sorry.
 
do a search, they have a customer service number..maybe they will lead you to a dealer that can handle it. i would try powder valley..call and talk to them about your wants

That depends on the barrel a bit. My experience shooting about 3000 rounds a year of .223 is that a button rifle will start to open up around 2500-3000 rounds at 600 but still shoot OK at 200. Cut rifle premium barrels will go to 3500-4500 depending on your load. Same pattern. Opens up at 600. X count drops at 300 but looks OK inside of 200. YMMV but that is over about a dozen barrels of multiple vendors.
