How to Find "Used" Items on Gunbroker?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Am I having a a problem with my laptop, or has Gunbroker disappeared the "used" button? I now have to wade through hundreds/thousands of new firearms to find the used ones. That's good for dealers, but not for me.

Is there any way to filter the ads?
If not, I'm voting with my feet.

Forum Boss: Use the "Quick Filters" button in a listing. That will bring up a "Used" item option. See Screenshots below.

I just quit going there unless I am looking for a closed/sold item, to value another similar item.

Brownells is another "new" site software for shopping. that is totally messed up. Search engine is almost useless and a log-in is iffy. Been dealing with them for 40 years....would be a great idea for these folks to pay the creators based on usability, have a non taught person try to use it befor they get paid, not just producing a soft ware, if you live by on-line sales.

Dont believe anything you read on GB! I believe that the best way to determine market value of a normal used firearm is thru private person to person sales on forums such as this. Even most auction sites are half bogus anymore.

Too much overpriced stuff… and fees and taxes on top. About the only time I see really good deals on stuff is at 4am or so with morning coffee. Usually if bookmark it, it’s sold by mid morning or so.

The irritating thing for me from the get go has been that they put milsurp rifles into bolt action rifles. There should be a separate category for them, so you wouldn’t have to wade through so many auctions depending on what you are looking for.

The Gunbroker website was certainly gotten worse over the last couple years.

Thanks Adam. Websites do seem to be climbing over one another to be new and improved. Sometimes that's not so.

A lot of old men like me get used to something that works, and don't appreciate a lot of change without notice. I guess they feel that's ok. It's not.

It all seems to run in cycles. Over-achiever web site developers decide to 'strut their stuff' and show how good they are. Unfortunately this often results in a flashy website that is nearly non-functioning unless you are another internet geek. We recently saw this with Blue Collar. They changed their site to a very attractive design...but it was nearly un-navigable. Thankfully, they listened to the public and restored the original site. The original site was/is clunky and simplistic, but it works. Not casting shade on Blue Collar. Love them and do a lot of ordering from them. Just using them as an example of things that went wrong but were made right.

I quit with gunbroker 15 years ago. Too much trouble. Concerning website buying, I'd almost rather go back in time to printed catalogues and phone calls. Vendors had to be easy to access then, thus service was better - no web curtain to hide behind.

I’ve been on gunbroker a couple times this morning, search feature was working fine. Maybe turn you laptop up or reset the history.

My experience is a little different. I can find what I’m looking pretty easily, I like their search system. I agree on the fees and taxes but I still pull a good deal off there on a regular basis. Since we don’t have much for gunshops here locally it’s nice to have a place to go and browse firearms. The over priced stuff I ignore, I’ve found a lot of sweet old rifles on that site that were a bargain. I also like being able to find rifles or pistols that I’ve looked for years, sometimes decades. Again, I just ignore the ridiculous.

So the "new", "used", and "new old stock" buttons that I've been using for 15 years are still there? Then I guess my laptop is malfunctioning.
