How to find great places to hunt pdogs in the west

If you want to find out info on your a sports team and a up coming game talk a say a Steelers Football nut and he will tell you the next game time and place. Same with gopher hunting or pdog hunting how can you get good solid info. Its easy just have to be smart. Call all the feed mills in the area you plan to go to they know all the ranchers that come in for food and wire. They talk to each other and know who has the really bad overrun gopher problems and can get you names and numbers. I live here and go threw 250 rounds of 22 rim fire any day so far this spring in a morning and back home for lunch in my 4 trips out this year. They are the ones with lots of info call the town feed stores and you'll get the best info to plan your trip. I have 2 ranch's here now that I don't even have to ask just drive threw our fence put the gate back up and start shooting just watch out for the cattle. One rancher just this past week asked if I could bring a machine gun out to kill them of faster with there is so many out there. We both got a good laugh and i headed out into his fields and have to take at least 2 guns or more to let the barrels cool down.... Tip fr the day.....

Well your local, that is a huge plus from the get go.
Trust is earned, not given. It has taken me many years to earn the trust from folks in the same state, when we are from opposite corners.
I see very few folks welcoming the “masses” as they did years ago. Liability is a huge part of it.
Go tell your insurance man your going to have a hay ride and see how that plays out.
I have bird and deer hunted in the past it was fine if they knew me, but I had to sign a waiver. If they didn’t know you it was a flat NO.
Folks today have a different attitude than times gone by. Some states and counties have a bad reputation in parts of the country.
Never hurts to ask, and if you don’t t you will never know. I know several that get PO’d when their told NO. Who pays the taxes or the rent.
Had a fellow that I always stopped and saw when pheasant hunting and asked if we could hunt, it was always NO for close to a dozen years. Only ask him once a year. It go to be we would just stop and visit or take him to town for lunch, he was a cranky old cuss but I liked him. Finally one year we stopped on our way home on a dry run of birds. He said I will let ya hunt this once while your here. Three of us limited out in the first 1/4 mile of fence row. Found out he liked old grandad whiskey so we always got him a half gallon for Christmas. Went up after Christmas one year and the liquor store had a great big bow on the door, asked the gal if I could buy it, she let me have it for taking it down.
We stopped by and he was gone so we put the half gallon on the porch and put that great big bow on it and left. Saw him later that year and he had some pet names for us but with a smile and a grin on his face.
Being good and understanding to others may pay off, friendships made are priceless no matter what.

last week, at a breakfasts diner in Wyoming , A local rancher came up to my friend and I, he asked if we were prairie dog shooters and then said he had property we could shoot. that was a first for us. In our conversation, he said he was really wanting to get rid of them. we joked about how another rancher in the area had offered us $10.000 to shoot the last one. he said he would give us $20,000 if we could shoot the last one. We did shoot quite a few prairie dogs there, but we didn't earn the 20k,

Do some googling to get leads. Then look at onx for public land and start zooming around. You can see dog towns in imagery. Careful not to confuse a dog town with fire ant mounds.
