How to Export Garmin Chrono Data?

In the Garmin Shotview app,
-- choose "Sessions" (lower right)
-- click on "..." (upper right)
-- choose "Export"
-- click on the sessions you want to send to your laptop
-- click on "Export"
-- choose "Mail" (or any other displayed app) to send to your email
On your laptop:
-- go into the email account you chose above
-- download attachments to your laptop

I ran into a formatting issue with the exported files, depending on whether I exported a single session versus multiple sessions, posted in another thread. If individual sessions are exported, file format was CSV and when imported to a spreadsheet, it was a single sheet. Exporting multiple sessions created an XLSX spreadsheet file with each session a distinct sheet (tab). The CSV numbers imported as numbers, however, the XLSX files imported lines as text strings rather than number and required manual conversion to get them to work as numbers. This process doesn't always convert correctly, depending on delimiters present.

The Garmin instructions note the difference in file formats for single vs multiple sessions, but does NOT mention the difference in the way that the numbers are imported. Hopefully this has been rectified by Garmin techs, but check your results.

I love my Garmin stuff but man I wish they’d make it simpler to download data. Always jumping through hoops to make things work. It’ll likely never happen, it’s been the same for 30 years.

Am I the only person that's to dumb or impatient to download this stuff? I too love my Garmin gps, my wifes GMC didn't come with one, you have to use apple play and a cell phone. I hate , hate technology. Come home and wright the fps history in a book. . If I can find a pen ;{

I do both, one twice! What's that make me?

I have a printed range sheet for any ladder testing, I like to write on the targets so later I'm not like what the heck was this, and before I delete I annotate/edit sessions as needed, then download all sessions before deleting them. I like to start every range session with no sessions on the Xero or in the app.

In another thread you'd see mult of us have asked Garmin for enhancements to the app. One a couple of us asked for was basically a one step advance to next session (same weight), also asked them to streamline downloads.
