How to delete private messages

I have fooled around to try and delete some private messages but have not figured it out yet. I figured i would ask before i do something and maybe lose all of them.

Dan, Click on the conversation you want to delete and then click on "leave conversation" located in the upper right corner.

A good word to have used there would have been DELETE,
but I guess everyone would have figured that out yesterday.
I wonder why people who create software, never knows the
meaning of SIMPLE?? LDS

Guessing that if it was 'simple' everyone could do it and they'd be homeless in a month.
