If I unplug a mini fridge, it is room temp in 3 hours. even with the door staying closed.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Household refrigerators today, with a power loss, seem to pale in comparison in keeping cold, to those of years ago. Maybe just erroneous memory on my part.

I worked in a plant that had a refrigerator made by GM in 1947. It was still there and working when the plant closed in 2009. Now, there mostly obsolete junk in less than ten years.

Aluminum ice trays that you'd have to lift a handle or rock the middle to dislodge the ice cubes. I remember going with my Grandpa to the ice plant and buying 200lb ice cubes that they'd run through a chipper and shovel into canvas duffel bags. The waitresses would ask the customer's if they wanted ice water. Old people back then knew how to work.
