How much to attend shot show?

Expect to pay about $195.1738000347326.png

Early Registering Media Members can get free admission. However, the hotels jack up their prices during SHOT Show week, so expect to pay $150+/night for a room, then add food cost, and your transport to/from Vegas. And some hotels charge up to $30/day for internet access. I used to stay at the Tuscany Suites, about a 1000-yard walk to the show. The hotels now typically charge a "fee" on top of the actual room rate, which is kind of deceptive advertising. At least the Tuscany has a wing that is 100% smoke-free, plus free parking. It has a very nice restaurant also, with an Early Bird special that is half the price of a similar meal at the Venetian.

Too bad they keep hosting the show in LV every year. My local FFL hated their location but had no choice because he had several vendors to confer in person. Why couldn’t they do it in different cities to keep the playing field more level?

I would imagine because no other city has the Vegas vibe. The same reason the NFR will always be held there.

The year they had it in Orlando was terrible. The choice of restraunts, hotels, and the casinos makes Vegas a clear winner. Not sure where else there is 800,000 feet of convention floor.

Like it or hate it, Vegas is the best option for SHOT. The proximity of countless hotels so close to the venue makes it the best option. Orlando was not good, neither was Atlanta many moons ago. The show is a grinder for those of us working it, so the short walk to a hotel, a quick meal, and time to catch up on work or get some sleep is a plus for sure.

If it helps...

I registered early so no fee to actually attend (I arrive Sunday and leave Friday night)

Then here are the approximate numbers for everything else

$600 in airfare
$1300 for hotel (I can't afford Venetian so I stay a hotel or two away and it's a fraction of the price of the Venetian)
$100 in ground transportation
$500 in food (food is STUPIDLY expensive, i.e. $12 for an orange juice, $20 for an omelet, etc)

I don't gamble at all so I don't have any player rewards which could possibly save people money.

I also am a NSSF member so I get emails for preferred lodging the day I arrive so I've already booked for next year and it saves me about $200 in hotel fees.

I agree, I think this year is something like $35 a day for services I'll never use. In my case it was for "pool party experience at Influence, a spa, salon and fitness center, a large futuristic casino and sportsbook, a selection of retail stores and numerous bars and lounges."
