How much throat for a 284w

I recently acquired a savage 110c rifle with a busted stock real cheap. Bought this with the intention of building my first rifle. I’ve always liked the 284 but wanted it it a bolt action not the model 100 or 88. My main question is when replacing the barrel how much throat would you give it? I haven’t fully decided on barrel contour yet ( definitely heavier than a sporter) but will probably go with 26” in length. Will be using it for hunting and may get into long range shooting. Any inputs are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

If you feed from a magazine .140" Single feed for my purpose
I use a .220

.220-.240 for 180 class bullets if single loading.

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge here. When you say .220 are you meaning an additional to the factory reamer. Do you mean free bore or actually lengthening the throat taper. I talked with Shilen and they told me that they only have the Saami spec reamer for the 284 and that if I wanted to lengthen the throat I would need to send them a dummy round with bullet of my choice and they would custom fit it to that bullet. Question is how do I know what bullet to go with? I am using a long action so oal length is not an issue for space in the magazine. I have some hornady 162 gr sst on hand which I could seat way out beyond 3.000 oal cartridge length which would be over the normal maximum length of 2.800 for the 284. Thoughts please
