how much off the lands

Hello.
I am reloading 308 and I want to know how far off the lands should I give bullet.,distance between bullet and lands. I reload Sierra HPBT 168 gr, and Scenar 167 gr

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer on that. Some shooters only shoot bullets in the lands, some only jump them, some only will jump them a little, some will jump them a lot.
The 168 Sierras are a pretty forgiving bullet and will usually will jump a mile and still shoot well. In one rifle I had with a very long throat, to keep the bullets magazine length I had to jump them about .150' and they still shot very well. My personal preference if I jump 308 bullets like that is to jump them around .020' - .025' but it's one of those things you have to experiment with.

I hope this helps.

Like Robert says, all barrels are different. My 308 shoots best jammed .015', while others with very accurate target 308s say thiers prefer to be jumped. Just have to check what your particular barrel likes.

If your rifle is a repeater, be certain the loaded rounds will fit in the magazine. Single shot not a problem.
