how much neck tension for 6.5x47 ?

My 6.5x47 brass has a wall thickness of .013. So a .289 bushing should give me .001 of tension.
What is the preference, .001 or .002 of tension ?

I am using a .288 bushing on my 6.5X47 brass. My lot of brass loads out to right around .2895-.290. You may want to try both, but at least in my humble experience with the 6.5X47 it is very forgiving and easy to load for.

Sorry, but you are going to have to answer that one your self...or , actually, let your gun decide what it likes. Also, what is your chamber neck dimention?

I have a whole stable of 300 WBY bbls, all chamberd with my reamer....334 neck....loaded diameter.... 3325. One likes .332, a couple like .330, and a couple like .328........all shooting 210 Bergers over RL 25.

Same with my 6mms some are different.

Find your powder charge first....then tune some with seating depth, and finish with neck tention. Once the neck tention is found, I never seem to need to change that aspect when switching bullets...that is the ONE constant for me.

Good luck,
Tod
