How much freebore 223 reamer

Could some please tell me how much freebore this reamer would leave, I looking at using 77-80 gr. Bullets

.169 issf works great with 80’s.

Think you both I was pretty sure it was “A” but “B” had me doubting myself adding the fact their match reamer is .0680

Neither of those are really truly correct. If you consider the freebore as the distance from end of case mouth to rifling begin then that chamber has closer to .050-.055 of the chamber allows for .010 - .015 of room forward of the actual case mouth.

the Compass Lake Engineering chamber has about .025 forward of the neck to freebore transition angle but has a shallower freebore to rifling angle. The Wylde is like .062. Both are standard chambers for service rifle in national match competition where 77’s are SOP for 200 & 300 fed from the magazine.

If you want to single feed and load long the 77s then look at the .080 - .100 freebore Rem Match chambers. They perform well even when loaded mag length.

I’m looking at a 7 twist Mcgowen prefit and this print is what they sent me when I asked about the freebore
this will be single feed So no worry about mag length

That chamber is going to really limit you simply due to the leade angle of 3+ degrees. Looks pretty much like a standard 223 SAAMI chamber (which the drawing states).

I guess I was some what miss lead by someone on another site that said this chamber would shoot heavies. Glad I double checked here.
So Basically I need more like 1.5 angle and maybe more toward .0500. Which is maybe more like a Match chamber hoping to stay away from turning necks. I really like Mcgowen prefits but my have to look else we’re for this project.

get a 223 Rem Match if you really want to shoot 80 / 80.5. Go ISSF or Manson FB if you want to go 85.5 / 88 / 90.

NSS Criterion RemAge comes with Rem Match @ like .080 or .100 FB (forget which exactly). I have shot some pretty wicked groups with those barrels and 80.5 / 82 Bergers in mid range prone.
