How much clearance between bullet and brake?

Simple question, how much clearance do you need between a bullet and the baffles or inside walls of a muzzle brake? I getting my 243 barrel threaded and Im trying to see if I can get away with using a factory .223 brake for my suppressor (30 cal suppressor, 223 brake) on it since the inside measurement of the baffles of the brake are quite loose. About .251 inside diameter. Is that enough clearance?

Harrell's Precision says this about their brakes:

"All brakes must be bored .020" over bullet diameter and installed by a gunsmith."

Anything under .020 is going to be a problem, especially if it is not 100% concentric to the bore, and anything over .020 is still going to be a problem, and you'll be loosing what you need the brake for anyways...
.020 will give you the best accuracy...

My gunsmith, installed 2 Harrells brakes for me, one a 30 cal and the other a 6.5, and also said .020" larger than bullet diameter is ideal.
