How many hits can a match take?

I was out Sunday shooting Matches and cards at 50yds. This match took 4 hits without breaking. The wind was off and on about 10 mph. You could hit 4 or 5 in a row then miss a few. Card went well 5 shots for two cards with Kidd. Tikka Tix first clean cut, next card was not on edge ( could see a little more than just edge. Card was hit 3 times before cut into.

Mark we shoot a match and tooth pic shoot every month...They can take a lot hits i promise you! Something fun our MD does is use kitchen matches and we have to light them! It can be done!

I just have to ask - is the question how many hits can a matchstick take or how many times can you almost miss the matchstick. And before you jump me, I ask in humor with a smile on my face, and some envy that I can't come close to that kind of shooting.

I recall doing indoor 3P in my youth and we'd tape a match such that the tip of the match-head would be behind the bull. All fun and games until you burn down your target on the first match. Indoors so no wind

I used to do the match lighting trick too, lots of fun to see em fire up,lol!

I'll try the match target sometime soon. Looks like fun. One thing about shooting bugs instead, when testing and tuning, is they are targets of opportunity and you have to be fast! They also tell you instantly where you hit them. A black fly, around the same size as house fly, little smaller shown above. 50yds and I hit him a bit high! Also, no fires on the range....Lol!
