how easy is it to replace a trigger spring

recently a spring broke in one of my reproduction revolvers. i'm not a gunsmith. is this something i can do myself or would i be better off having it repaired elsewhere?

Every gun owner needs to know how to disassemble, clean, replace worn or broke items like springs, lubricate (if appropriate), and reassembly your trigger. Lots of YouTube videos to help guide you.

More critical operations like honing contact surfaces and adjusting set points should be left to a competent gunsmith until you develop the skills and confidence to do them yourself. Good luck.

At minimum you will need the proper fitting tools for all fasteners, this will reduce damage to surfaces/finish on the firearm. Than a basic idea on how it functions, if YouTube watch before attempting, a couple different tubers if possible(not all are "experts).

If it’s a Uberti Colt reproduction it doesn’t get much easier. A good set of hollow ground gunsmith screw drivers are a must unless you want to bugger up the screw heads. You Tube is your friend. Take photos with your phone.
