How do you post a reply on a forum?

How do you post a reply without quoting someone here? If i hit the "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the screen, I get an error message asking me to post a valid message. if i then go down to the box at the bottom of the page that looks like a place to post a reply or message, i get an ad form Sinclair. someone please help!

If you hit REPLY you get the quote

Go down further and you will see a light blue line ..under that it says "Write your reply"

That gives you your reply with no quote.
