How do I tell what the twist rate is.

Hi. My dad has an older Tikka in 243 he wasn't sure what the twist rate was. I looked it up on the tikka web site but couldn't find out forsure what it is. How can I tell what the twist rate is. Thanks Shaner

Take a cleaning rod (preferably one that has a spinning handle) with a brush or tight fitting patch and push it in the barrel down to a couple inches short of the muzzle. Next put a piece of tape on the rod and put a mark on the top right at the edge of the action barrel or what ever to use as a starting point. Next pull the rod back out till the mark makes one full revolution, then measure from the starting point how far you pulled the rod to get one full rotation.
There may be a better way, but that's what I do.

That was weird, The other post was not there when I entered my post, and it said it was posted 10mins. before mine.
Anyway, same method as a means.
