I've followed the instructions a dozen times and it still won't auto throw. Anyone got a solution?

Very true.

The other item is that the CM won't auto dispense if the scale doesn't sense that the tare weight has reset to zero. If there is a breeze or your HVAC diffuser is blowing onto to the scale, it won't reset and then auto dispense. Thats what the clear plastic wind screen is for. I usually rotate the wind screen over the dispensing tube & tray, dispense, and then move it out of the way. Don't think my set of instructions mentioned this.

I've tried most all of the above. This one is a couple of yrs old and I've nver been able to get it to auto dispense. (even with the cover closed)

Here's one thing to try: With the hopper empty, dial up 771.6 grains and hit Dispense, then put your 50 gram check weight on the pan. It'll think that it has dispensed one charge. Then press your Zero button with the weight still in the pan. Does it start trying to dispense again?

Very straightforward: simply hold the ENTER button down, and it'll toggle back and forth on the MANUAL/AUTO settings.....

It works fine for me....don't use it much when doing load development, but comes in handy when loading same charge.....

I'm going to play with it some more. I'm getting into "production" mode lately getting enough ammo loaded for Perry and I'm beginning to think I'm going to wear the dispense button out.

Yes, make sure it is in "Auto" mode.

Several years ago, I had to send my CM back to RCBS. They determined that the software had a glitch in it, and it wouldn't work properly. For $35, I sent it back, and they ended up replacing the entire CM. No problems since then. Please call CS at RCBS, you shouldn't have to struggle with it. When it works as it should, it is a dream to use.

***Update***

I figured it out. I've been using this chargemaster for several yrs now. Long time ago I switched to a plastic pan that's partially covered with a little funnel spout. Makes pouring into the cases very easy, never spill a kernel. This pan weighs 69 grains.

I got to thinking and tried it with the original pan was heavier so I gave it a try with the old pan and viola, it worked. The light pan wasn't enough to trip the cycle.

Worked as intended this morning for 50 rounds.

That's good to know. I myself was tempted to use such a pan...luckily I stuck with the original. Thanks for the heads up.

i don't think the pan was/is the problem. i just put a cap that weight 23 gn on mine and it went through the auto cycle fine.

for the auto cycle to start it requires the scale to return to zero when the pan is put back on the scale.

i think i would call rcbs.

Trust me, I experimented with it, your unit may be different, but mine the 69gr pan won't trigger the cycle.

My solution was to put the plastic pan in the metal pan and run it that way. I don't use a drop tube, so that little plastic pan with the cover and funnel spout makes getting the powder in the case the simplest part of the process. I don't think I could reload w/o it. ::)
