How accurate is your T3?

I'm surprised you haven't received any responses. I've got a Tikka T3 varmint in 22-250. It's the most accurate factory rifle I've ever bought. I eventually replaced the barrel after I shot the first one out.

Most reports of T3 performance have been very favorable. Occasionally someone will report of a T3 not working to their expectations.

Being kind of a Tikka fan, I’d say “Buy it!” Every Tikka I own except one shoots 3/4” and under @100 . I’m frustrated right now with an old 595 in 223 with a 1 in 12 twist barrel. I’m getting 1 to 1 1/2” groups at 100 with different bullets tested. It’s the first Tikka out of 15 that’s done this. I bought it used but the barrel scopes OK. Not sure what’s going on. I’ve tried 40 grain up to 69 grain bullets and 4 different powders with the same results.

I had a T3X CTR that shot sub 1/2" five shot groups consistently. I had a "Lite" in .308 that shot consistently sub-MOA. My last one, a T3X SuperLite .308 shot fair at first, right around MOA for three rounds, but always seemed picky. I put pillars in it, glass bedded it, and put a better recoil lug in it and now it shoots tiny little groups.

Timely thread. Going to be working on one and making loads for a young lady in Texas soon so I am curious.
You seldom hear anything bad about them. I had one of the old 500? series models many years back and it shot very well.

I have a t3 in .223 sporter barrel with 8 twist. I have done nothing to it. I have shot it very little but I just worked up a load with 75 Berger VLD Target. Best 3 shot group just under .200. Average .5 to .6. The one time I tried 60Vmax groups were .2 to .5.. I shot at a 400 yd steel 6 inch plate with the 75 gr and hit towards top edge. Took 2 clicks out and hit dead center. Shot another shot it Robin Hooded the center hit. Good to go for a 400 yard sporter match in 2 weeks..
I have had 3 in .243. One was a .75 gun after bedding. One was a .5 gun with nothing. The best was a .3 gun after bedding. Great little deer rifles.

I bought a T3 22-250 years ago, used and sold cheap to clear. It took me about ten minutes to find it shot 55gr Sierra Gameking hollow points into a single hole. Sold it on after shooting many roe with it to another chap, who continued with that load to shoot many more.
My rifles are all, bar one, built on T3 actions.
There have been a few issues with premature corrosion in more recent Tikka. That aside, I patiently await the availability of a Triggertech Diamond trigger unit for them.
A friend recently purchased a Target Ace in 6.5 Creedmoor, and with reasonable load development is hitting MOA size targets at 1300m 3 out 4 shots.

Just packed up my T3 lite 308 for a weekend whitetail hunt. It’s been a very nice rifle, easy to carry and shoots moa or better with pretty well anything. The 185 Berger classic hunter has been exceptional for me, both on paper and on deer.

I'm getting a custom hunting rifle built and I really don't know why because my factory tikka nothing done to it is a hammer of a hunting rifle. Buy it you won't regret it. I don't shoot it much except before season to make sure everything is good or when I'm loading a new batch of ammo for it. But here's a few 100 yard targets and a 300 yard target with it. Have shoot it at 600 as well just to see it shot 3 inch 3 shot groups .

Most of the ones I have/had all shoot/shot well. One of the most accurate I ever had in any rifle was a M695 in .280.

I'm honestly considering getting rid of most all my rifles except my Tikka T3Xs and my Browning X-Bolts. I was shooting my Tikka T3X yesterday with ammo that I developed for another rifle and it was shooting 1/2 MOA using 150 gr Hornady Interlock.

The few that I have all shot very well. Not a benchrest or f class rifle but you can't beat them for factory rifles.

I own 3 T3's. 2 have aftermarket barrels and untouched actions - which says a lot for the factory standards.

But here's a thing. One "myth" that has circulated - is that factory barrels that don't have "Made in Finland" engraved are produced by Lowther Walther. Whether this is true - but my 20in CTR barrel is a hammer! It's a Creedmoor - and loves 123 Lapua Scenar's, driven with Varget. I use it for steel and fun shoots with an 8-32 Sightron.

I have yet to mess with a tikka that didn't shoot half moa or better with hand loads. Fantastic rifles for the money. Adjustable trigger, smooth action and comfortable factory stocks that are stiff enough to work properly, and plenty of after market support to change things if you wanted to.
