Hotel recommendations - BSWN

I am looking at areas/hotels to stay in.

What areas should be avoided? I remember some cars being broken into when I was there last in 2015. I still don't know where that occurred.

Any positive recommendations would be helpful too.

Anthem Hampton is a great place and they bend over backward to make everything fantastic. A word to the wise, don't leave anything in your car or truck you don't want to lose. I know there was one break in year before last, it can happen anywhere.

I'm not sure what's all available now, but I'm a big fan of finding a house/casita on airbnb. To Matt's point, I usually like to stay north of 101.

Just open the maps on Hotels.com or one of the others, to I-17 and exit 223 (how appropriate). That is the exit to the range.

The hotels along the I-17 are packed with drug addicts and hookers. It's not quite so bad north of the 101, but Drury off Happy Valley is a fairly common place for them to stay. Phoenix PD visits the hotels between the 101 and the 10 on a daily basis arresting people for warrants. Anthem is your best bet unless you're into that sort of thing. Do not, under any circumstances, stay at the budget suites at the Loop 101 and I-17.

I have stayed at the Drury Inn on Pinnacle Peak Rd. (Happy Valley) for the last three years. Guess I don't know a drug addicts or hooker from a business person or a family. I never have to leave for breakfast or dinner. All included.

By all means, stay where you're comfortable. I was just giving out a layout of the land.

I have lived here 37 years and the drug and hooker crowd are in the Bell road corridor. I would not stay around Bell Road and I 17 but the farther north you go toward Anthem the better it gets but rooms get very limited the farther north you travel. There is nothing above Anthem for 50 miles. (forgot "Casa Rossi" at New River but I know he is sold out including the dog kennel.)
