Hot Tip for .223 and .308 users

Since the supply of .308 brass has all but dried up here's a pretty good alternative for those searching for some.

Prvi Partizan is made in Serbia, and makes some great ammo and components. At $14.50 a box for Match Grade .308 Winchester loaded ammo compared to $35-$40 per box for Federal Gold Medal this is one hell of a deal.
They also sell the same Match ammo loaded with 168 grain BTHP's but Wideners is currently out of stock on those.
You can also buy the components 168 grain or 175 grain bullets for $92.00 per 500 compared to $140.00 for Sierra match Kings.

I use their ammo in .308 and .223,75 grain HPBT Match) which sells for $419.00 per 1000 or 69 grain Match which sells for just a bit more. I can attest that this stuff will shoot MOA or under. It's good brass, factory annealed, and completely reloadable. The .223 75 grain BTHP bullets can be had for $52.00 per 500 another great deal compared to American Manufactures.

Try some, you'll be impressed!

I know Federal Gold Medal. Federal Gold Medal is a friend of mine. Prvi Partisan is no Federal Gold Medal.

Still, for those that don't reload, Prvi is an alternative. Just don't expect Gold Medal Match performance from it, at least in the .223 version, which I have tested in two accurate rifles. The 308 Win may be better.

What rifle are you shooting it in? What twist? Did you shoot the Prvi Match, or one of their other .223 loadings?

Perhaps we need a side by side comparison test with Federal Gold Medal, Black Hills, and the Prvi Partizan in a box stock Remington 700 PSS or a Savage in the appropriate twist. If someone wants to Pony up the ammo I'm sure Paul can get someone to do the test.

In my Sig 556's the Privi 75 grain BTHP Match shoots as well or better than anything else regardless of price.

I agree with you, handloading is still the only way to wring out the most accuracy in any given firearm.

I did not make any claims other than the fact that the Prvi was over 60% less expensive than the Federal and a viable alternative to those seeking .308 brass and getting some pretty good factory loaded ammo to boot.

Military M118 Lake City Long Range is the Military's Sniper ammunition and is going for $40.00 a box if you can get it.

I have some White Feather spec'd by Carlos Hathcock that will shoot as good as the Federal Gold match but is now a collectors item so what I have left I won't shoot anymore. It's IMI brass, stamped Paw Match, for Paw Paw West Virginia where the plant was located), CCI BR2, N540, Sierra 175 grain Match Kings as spec'd by Hathcock. Upon Hathcocks death the White Feather logo went back to the family and the manufacturing facility in West Virginia was closed.

Still, for $14.50 a box for the .308 Match or $8.50 a box for the .223 Match I'll shoot the Prvi, save the brass and reload it with the Prvi Partizan bullets.
