HOT, HOT, HOT

Boy is it hot. It was 98 over the weekend with the town just north of here at 114, a little further inland where I have hunted,California Valley) it was 124. Man do I need some AC about now, hopefully it will break soon. I don't want to shoot in this weather. Can you imagine how loads will react to this heat.

What's the weather like where you are?

I've been in Ventura since 2002, and I can't remember more than a few days in the 90s. I'm right near the coast and we almost always have a cooling sea breeze even when it's 100+ inland a bit.

This past week it's been in the 90s. No A/C, no fun. Bet those ground squirrels are diggin' their dens deeper.

Beautiful sunny Northern California. 30 miles inland from the coast.Friday afternoon, 115. Saturday and Sunday afternoon 116.
Cooling trend today. Only 115. ;)Should cool off soon. Maybe mid October?? I bet the ammo would go crazy in this weather!!

Iam just down the coast an hour from our moderater and we saw 102 in Newport beach over the weekend. Enough of this already, I'm ready for some cooler weather, but am expecting 105-110 for the dove opener in about 5 weeks.

Yeah, its crazy, I don't have any AC because we usually just don't need it.

Moderator, you are right, everything is digging in and hunkering down, nothing moving out there. On the positive note we haven't had any fires in the area so far, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Two weekends ago we shot a 1000 x 3 at Ft Benning. It was 102 the humidity is horrible in S. Georgia.

It has cooled off this week to 90 but the air is still very, very humid.

Hot Weather
I used to be a land surveyor. Hot weather and cold weather is part of the job. City folks complain about any change in weather. In 4 months there will be snow on the ground in several parts of the Country and temps heading towards freezing. You don't like where you live. Move.

I grew up in the Caribbean. This hot and humid weather like what the eastern half of the country is having is nothing new.

I can't believe the amount of national whining over this.

Newsflash: IT IS AUGUST!!!!

I agree. In So Cal today it is a comfortable 84 deg in Upland. Hard to please some. This is still considered Summer in California.

That said, I am glad I chose to go to NRA week instead of CMP week at Camp Perry this year. Right now the heat index is 105 at Port Clinton. It must have been nice enduring through two days of 100+, spending 8 hours in the open for the President's and National Trophy Individual rifle matches.

Next week temps fall back down to a more seasonal low 80s/high 70s up by the lake.

Keep the ammo in the ice chest until you want to shoot, then feed in one round and fire, repeat as required. JimDee

The weather broke here, a comfortable 75 degrees with last night's temp at about 53. This is normal for here now. And Stephen, I'm not moving.
