If you are not 100% committed to the "22k hornet", I would recommend that you at least consider a 20 Ackley hornet. that was the best thing that ever happened to mine.

I thought they were the same? I would appreciate if you reply I'd really like to know if there is a difference. Gary Gore

I need someone to build the rifle FIRST. Most lmportant part;);)
A lot of “Thread Attention Deficit Disorder” on this site. ;) Since you can’t get a relevant answer, might try asking over on small-caliber saubier.com. Many CZ owners there. Also, I’m thinking that a member there and here also - Adam Bentley (The Dresden Gun Company) - has done CZ work, but not sure if he’s still doing general gunsmithing.
FWIW, when Pac-Nor re-opens, I’m planning to have them replace the light .22 Hornet barrel on my CZ action with a K-Hornet one in their CZ Varmint contour (assuming they do installations.) That doesn’t sound like an option for you though, unless your current barrel is CZ and you might want to “upgrade”; then - if you maintained the contour of the barrel to fit the stock you have - all you’d have to do would be to screw the barreled action to your stock.

Just another variation; there are several.
I have a CZ 527 in hornet (reg) and it shoots amazingly well at least 90 yards down. That is just what is available in my backyard. I have a (what is marked as) K hornet in a 10 inch contender barrel and I have that I bought off E-bay a long time ago, it is a rechamber that started life as a reg hornet
I bought redding dies from a friend that are marked K hornet and they work fine together. I have seen different references to this an am really just asking what you guys know. My 10" contender barrel actually works fine and I have made some good shots w/it. (at least in my opinion but usually inside 100 yards)
I'm shooting midway's 34 grain bullet in both and they will both flat blow a starling up!

Allen Elliott , in Phoenix, Arizona re-barreled my CZ. Put on a Lilja tube and it rocks. He got it so right that you feel the slightest shoulder "crush" on factory ammo, so even it shoots light out. I've lost his number but he was referred to me by Lester Bruno - so I know he has Allen's number if you want it. I'm going to use him again to chamber a few barrels for another .22 Nosler I'm building. Good luck!

Years ago I had Ruger 77/22 Hornet. With factory stuff it was groundsquirrel accurate to maybe 100yds. But not at all exciting to shoot, not real fast and not very much terminal effect. Far as I was concerned it just didn't have anything special. Had it made into a K Hornet and still just didn't do it for me. Sent it to Wessinger custom guns and made into a 17AH, what a difference. Best thing I could've done with that Hornet. The 17AH is just perfect for small critters, I've also dispatched many many rockchucks although they don't come apart like a squirrel or PD. Speed makes that little 17 a lot more fun.

20 Hornady Hornet shooting something like the Hornady 24gr NTX bullet would make for a easy and fun little PD/ground squirrel gun.

I was at a out of the Walmart the other day. They had a cz 22 hornet for sale. First one I have seen at Walmart. I know that's what it was . I will look to make sure again.

Somebody in ordering didn't know the difference between a 22, a 223 and a 22 Hornet.
