H-4227 WORKS REALLY WELL IN A 221 FIREBALL WITH 40GR BERGERS HP

For me H110/W296 are more accurate than LilGun. Hornady 40gr. Tipped bullets. Have a lot of free bore so used a longer bullet.

No-brainer powder is 1680, best I have found is Alliant 300MP, if you like to walk the tightrope for maximum velocity use Lil'Gun. All the above work well with performance limitations of one kind or another. A new powder worth looking at is Shooters World SBR-SOCOM which is about 10% faster than 1680. M.L. MacPherson wrote some pretty good articles about both the 22 Hornet and the 22 K-Hornet years ago; you can find them on the internet. Best forum for Hornets and other small stuff is saubier.com . Hope this helps.

I like 2400, 10gr is a real light load and real easy on brass. I use a dogtown bullet from midway, I think they are 32 grn but they might be 35. I keep the hornet to not much more than 100 yrds. If I'm shooting farther than that I'll use something else. Gary
