Ha. I drilled one last night shooting the discontinued 85s from Sierra, he took it like a champ but no sign of dog or blood either. That’s happened more than I care to admit. I’m a pretty decent shot and my rifles zero was fine checked today. I bought some of the factory loads just to try tonight see if it changes my luck. Everybody loves the 85s but I can’t have any luck with them.Missed one last night with that exact setup, going again in an hour. I'll report back if successful.
Oh yea it’s gonna happen.Perhaps he signed and you zagged. It happens..
The last yote I killed was at about 75 yds with 95vmax out of 6.5 creedmoor. Bullet did not exit. Dropped like stone. It was like shaking a soup can when I picked it up. That bullet is amazing.Well. I have killed 2 since i started using this bullet. Both was good feeling comfortable shots. First one was let’s say 150yds quartering towards me and I shot just below his neck between the front legs. He got dumped, all 4 legs went straight up, rolled over and ran 100 yards collapsing just before the wood line. Bullet did exit with about the size of a golf ball hole.
Next coyote was a 75yd broadside shot in a hurry that was a few inches behind shoulder and a tick high. He ran 120 yards pumping blood with an exit hole the size of your thumb. At least if they run they have a good blood trail to track. Might move to the 95 vmax or 90 Nosler varmageddon see if they blow up and stay inside with less runners.
That speed and a more fragmenting bullet must be magic. The last yote I killed was at about 75 yds with 95vmax out of 6.5 creedmoor. Bullet did not exit. Dropped like stone. It was like shaking a soup can when I picked it up. That bullet is amazing.
