Hornady One Shot Sonic Clean Solution

Gonna run out, using the recommended mixture. Any substitute? I have Lemi shine, and Dawn, but don't want to use too much or not enough.

I run Dawn & Lemmi - Shine , ( no pins ) and found that using filtered or distilled water , and rolling them in a soft towel after a through rinse off with hot tap water did a lot to getting the spotting gone .

I'm looking at the primer pocket residue. I used vinegar/water/salt.... and it did pretty good. I did a comparison of one shot and a dish soap/water with citric acid. Mixed 1:1 water/soap. Consistency is the same, we'll see how it cleans. The salt cuts carbon, wondering how much salt though.

ATTENTION!
Using salt in a sonic cleaner will result in holes in the cleaning tank. Salt dissolved in water results in chlorine ions which will attack the grain boundaries of the stainless steel used in sonic cleaner tanks.
I should have known this but I had to buy another cleaner.

One thing I never thought about. A member on here said well water would discolor brass. I have well water "thankfully" and while clean by any standards really didn't have the shine. Now I know.

After depriming, run your primer pocket uniformer, or whatever other primer pocket tool you have( you wired brush type cleaners and tips that resemble a flat head screw driver) to loosen the largest clumps of deposits- THEN chuck them in sonicator- still wont be 100% deposit free, but whatever remains will be more like a stain than a protrusion- nothing that will interfere with seating or cause reason for accuracy concern ( Damn, there are people who claim not cleaning yhe primer pocket at all has zero effect on subsequent load accuracy)

as soon as you expensive sonic solution runs out, start experimenting with your own brew. The most important ingredient to have is citric acid and no amonia- I found cheap bulk citric acid crystals from a soap store and mixt that in water with a splash of “cleen geen”, and only because we dont have lemi-shine where I live- the Lemi-shine and Dawn recipe is almost universally accepted as best- if not better- solution than proprietary solutions.

just tryin to speed things up... as far as build up not being cleaned out for accuracy, that's not my concern. Seating them below flush and not having to check each and every case is my thing. Maybe soaking them before running them through the sonic is key?

only thing I know that eats/disolves carbon is piranha solution - would advise against that. 2 twists of your wrist per case - which you SHOULD inspect visually in any event - and your problems are solved.

primer pockets don't get cleaned with dish detergent

The ultrasonic vibration and the "HOT" soapy water cleans the primer pockets.

I have never had a problem with my sonic cleaner, and I can tell you the hotter the water the better the cleaning.

Cases cleaned with a sonic cleaner may not have the same bling as wet tumbling with stainless steel media. But the sonic cleaner doesn't peen the case mouth so you have choices on how to clean your cases.

NOTE, with my sonic cleaner even with hot tap water it takes 4 cleaning cycles for the heat lamp to go off.

Here's a quick run I did just now. I did not do anything to the 6.5x55 cases after depriming and prior to running in Sonic cleaner. The small primer pocket 6.5CM's were cleaned with a primer pocket uniformer (4 twists) prior to going into Sonic cleaner.

Ran 4x8min cycles.
