Hornady brass 6BR

Is Hornady brass that poor of quality? Just getting into this caliber, so going through the learning curve. Will the Laupa brass eventually catch up for availability or is the shortage normal?

The shortage is odd, Lapua 6BR brass is readily available the majority of the time. It’s suppose to be hitting shelves this spring, the next time it does maybe pick up an extra box. 100 pieces of 6BR brass will last a very long time unless you shoot an awful lot.

He’s 100% correct on it lasting forever. I made the rookie mistake of using 300 pieces of new Lapua Brass when I first got it. The barrel will burn out way befor those 300 pieces of brass go bad.

I have had no problem buying Lapua Loaded 6BR rounds and use them in my factory 6BR rifle and then end up with once fired cases for my bench rest 6BR. A little expensive, though I found 225 rounds on this forum that I bought for a really good price. They were the old ones, so I now have a supply of both Gold Box and Blue Box Lapua Brass. Did the same with the 6.5x47L.

Was also an option to buy loaded rounds if necessary. I think I am good and was just being paranoid! I received 148 hand loaded rounds with purchase of SAV. FT/R so from comments I won't look any further until necessary. These are suppose to be only fired twice. Plan on shooting mostly paper at various distances as my marksmanship improves and hopefully a PD hunt some day.

Bullets.com is going out of business and had great prices on loaded 6BR, but they are now all gone (I got some as well as Lapua RF match ammo, .308 Match and 6.5x47L.
