Hornady 80gr. VT

Seems to be a lot less interest in the 80 compared to the 62. In my next 6 creed barrel im going to try switching to this, so post your results!

Well, they are stupid expensive. That would be my first complaint.

I don't know if people have re- discovered the old school Hornady 87 HP varmint. I didn't even know they existed until a buddy and I were searching for a bullet for the 6xc.

For some reason, the 87 gr. V-Max did Not, shoot "repeatable" good group's from, my 6 XC, 1-7.5 twist.
Shot great, in my grandson's 1-10 twist Tikka,.. But, NOT for, Me ( from .3's, one Day to, 3/4 MOA the next Time )
These might group better than V-Max and would replace, the more expensive, 80 and 95 gr Berger's for Me,..
If, they "shoot", Day in, Day Out, certainly worth, a "Try" !

I had the same problem with 87 V Max from a 1-7.5 twist .243. When they shot good, it was really good, but I couldn’t depend on it.

Never could get 87 VMAX to shoot in 8 twist.
Other than the 50 and 55 grain VMAX I haven't had great luck with any other Hornady bullet. I actually quit trying them. I just buy Berger bullets as I know they will shoot . The Hornady bullets are much less expensive and as an FFL holder I can buy the Hornady bullets from Zanders for cheaper than most folks. I just haven't had great luck so I don't buy them often

Skeet,..
I have had, NO, accuracy "issues" with any other, Hornady Bullet, except the 87 gr. V-Max.
The 50 gr. V-Max, 52 gr. ELD-M, and 55 gr. Flat Based Varmint bullets, shoot Real Well, in my .22-250 Rem.
The 123 gr., & 130 gr. ELD-M's and 143 grain. ELD-X's, in 6.5 cal. ALL Shoot, very "Well", for me.
YES, the Bergers ARE, a bit better,. If you "Need", the ultimate accuracy, but for shooting, Sage Rats to 250 yds or Steel to 850 with, the 6.5 Creedmoor, they have been,.. FINE, for Me.
In my very accurate, 6 XC,.. I use Sierra 107 gr SMK's and several, "Good" Berger, weights
