Anybody played with these yet? Any conformation of the .351 G7 B.C.? Have a 260AI I might like to try and give these a work-up with RL16.

Get hold of Thomas Holbrook on this forum. He has done a fair amount of testing with them. He would be a valuable source for the help you are seeking.

The 147 is an ELD-M bullet just to clarify. I shoot them in my Creedmoor and they shoot great. I am getting 2825fps in my 27" barrel. I have only shot them to 300 due to work keeping me from my 1000 yard range but I have spoken to more than one person who has shot them over 1000, farthest 1250, and the BC holds true. The BCs are doppler radar tested so they are accurate.

Here's a pic of the 130 ELD-M, 140 ELD-M and the 147 ELD-M

I have had very good luck with all the ELD-M bullets I have shot. Advertised BCs have been on the money or close enough that I am unable to true them. I plan to get more "scientific" this summer with them. LOL
Perhaps one of the best things about the ELD-M line is that-- I was told buy a Hornady tech last week when I called that they all have an 8 degree boat tail which is outstanding for shooting through transonic. All of Litz's Hybrids have a 7 degree, if memory serves and if memory still serves in his book (Applied Ballistics 2nd ed.) You want a bullet with a 7-8 degree boat tail for optimum long ELR shooting. I do not remember what length of tail needed or desired.
Hornady really turned it up with these. I am excited to see what new bullets Berger comes out with.

Thanks for the M vs X correction, they are indeed ELD-M's. I have been wondering about the truth of the B.C. I was on the verge of trying out a 284 to get a bump in B.C. but saw these and thought I'd give them a try since I'm heavily invested in 260AI. My only concern is they're so long I'll have to cut out my donuts and seat them well into the case. I could cut the throat deeper but to seat the shank completely above the donut would require every other bullet I use to make quite a jump. Can't wait to test them out.

Well here's the 284 version that Hornady just released the ballistics on.

Well here's the 284 version that Hornady just released the ballistics on.
I'll be looking into those as I build my 284. I'm just slowly piecing one together to try it. I still really like my 260AI, just wanted to try the 147 as they seem to outclass all else B.C. wise. I'll have to see if the accuracy is there in my gun with them seated down in the case. Right now I have 142 SMK seated just above the donut and they work well for me.

139 scenars shoot very well in my 260 also. Just pricier than berger, Sierra and Amax.

I had someone kindly give me 20 139's to try and haven't used them yet. I've heard they shoot good. I tried their 123's and the Sierra 123's shot significantly better in all my 6.5's.

46.5 /H4831sc, Lapua brass, WW primers w/139 scenars gives me .3 out to 400 yards. Opens up a bit beyond that but I'm sure it's not the guns fault. They Ackley will take a bigger powder charge but I'm sure you'll find a sweet spot. The scenars actually shoot the best of all in my 260. The Amaxs are the cheapest and group very close so I tend to load up on those more than any. Berger's are next and sierras last. They all shoot at least .5 moa out to 400. Post your results with the 139s.

That's very close to my load. 46.0-46.3 H4831SC depending on temperature with 142 SMK or Berger LRBT. I won my class at the local club 600 yard league with it. Not any faster than any of my straight 260's but it's been more accurate than any of them. Hopefully I'll find time to work up the 147's soon. I also just built my first rifle (6 BR-DX) so I'm putting the finishing touches on that and it's what has my attention right now.

Interesting. I've only done a few groups with the 140 ELD-M in my 260AI and 46.3 of H483sc is giving me below .2 moa at 200 yards. Hoping to try it out to 1000 this weekend. They do set down in the case, though.

I'd like to see real close to 3000 fps with very good accuracy using the 147s. The RDF bullets that Nosler makes will be another interesting bullet to test. I'm reading good things
