Hornaday Brass 6.5 x 284

Having problems with Hornaday brass in my 6.5 x .284. I can't get some rounds to chamber and the one's that I can chamber. I have bolt sticking problems. Made a few adjustments thinking it was pressure problems. I got the same results.
Anybody have any suggestions? This is new brass and I don't turn the necks? I used the same loading technique using Winchester brass and the results are like a night and day difference.
Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get out ayour Caliper & start taking some mesurements & writing them down for both cases. We realy need to know the reamer that was used & the Nk size.
Mesure a dummy round loaded for both on the neck.

Just as a note I used the Hornady 6.5 Brass on my first rifle. There was no Norma or Lapua Brass for it then & I didnt want to go through the trouble of making brass.Hornady was the fist one out with it & I got some & started to reload for it. I found out the hard way about having good brass for Long range work. after fighting with my Long range scores & losing to some 308's I got a book on bench rest reloading & wow. This isnt gas gun shooting & I weighed the cases. The E.S. was horriable. I did the best thing i could with what I had & sorted the brass from light to heavy so each peice was never more than .1 gr from the last one i fired. That put me in third place ina regional. Ive since set that brass aside for ahunting gun project down the road.

Ive since turned the necks on that brass & dont remember if it was thicker or not.

Lapua would have been a better choice in my opinion. Norma also. That is just me though. Ive heard excellent things about the winchester brass right here on this sight. Look at the 6.5X284 page.

Good luck

My second 6.5-284 barrel seems to have a tighter chamber than the first one. And, after a year of testing Lapua and others I have found that win. 284 brass is about .002" less near the base and is the only one I have found that I am happy with for this barrel. I will save the Lapua for my next barrel. And, I now have my own reamer for the next one. Good Shooting, Gerry:D
