Home made shoot-n-c targets- cheap!

Hey guys, here's a video I made showing you how to make your own shoot-n-c targets cheaply. I used a groundhog shape as an example but you can choose any shape you like. Layers of 2" clear tape can be used instead of laminating if you don't have access to a laminator.

Hope you enjoy:

Why is it a "Shoot -N-See"?

First I thought you were spraying black paint on white plastic. Then the plastic shows around the bullet hole. That's cardboard I think. The video is quite confusing as there's nothing about why it's a "shoot -n-see". Just looks like black paint on cardboard. Never could figure out what role tape or laminating had in this.

Now the plastic is just those ground garden stakes. Are they part of this "shoot-n-see" you title?

My take from this is you just painted plain cardboard and you can see the bullet holes white??? on plain cardboard.

Getting the impression I am forever the dumber for having looked at that.

awhile back the daily bulletin had something similar but WAY more impressive. the presenter took fluorescent paper(poster board) and covered a piece with clear packing tape. spray painted with flat black and let dry. shoot this thing and you will see the expected shoot-n-see effect! i cut a 1 foot rectangle, stuck a 1 in circle in the center and sprayed with flat black paint. after dry remove the one in circle and you have a very visible aim point easily seen at long range. when shot the fluorescent haloed bullet hole is VERY easy to see. if you are really cheap, push the tape back in position and repaint...the tape prevents a large missing piece of paper as occurs with the store-bought shoot-n-sees which come with "pasties". cut out a large ghog and did the above...makes a very noticeable hole at long range. taping is quick if you use one of those packing tape applicators. a full size poster board would make a 600+yard target that some may be able to see with naked eyes or low power binocs. cost is very low.

CaptainMal we are both on the same page, i do not understand what it is he is doing, maybe I am just too old to "get it".

maby I can help......I hav had the best luk with pink!!(or lime green) poster paper that I get at wal-mart or craft 2000.....simply cover it with the wide "scotch"tape...(clear and on big rolls and dispensers at wal-mart/sams club).....then spray paint it black...when the paint dries they are ready to go (you can patch with the tape and re-paint and the paint will be dri by the time you get back to the 600 yd firiening line...)when a bullet pases thru the target it tears the tape and makes the bright flourescent paper visible from a distance.....Roger

Okay, let's take this step by step...

STEP 1) Laminate white paper (or bright color of your choice). covering paper with large clear tape works the same.

STEP 2) Cut the laminated paper into a target shape of your choice (in my case a Groundhog).

STEP 3) Spray your target with black (or any contrasting color) paint.

STEP 4) Stick the target to some kind of backing, cardboard or plywood work well to check missed shots.

STEP 5) Shoot the F@(%#ER!

Are we picking up what I'm putting down now??
