This is pretty much what I do. As I belong to a private rifle club about 30 minuet's from where I work, I keep my three primary hunting rifles in my truck (extended cab) at work (park in fenced areas in key card drive in gates manned by security 24/7) once my load development is done I drive to my range after work literally take one shot at 200 yards confirm zero same targets then put 3-4 mags through my CC/HG or HG's of choice and call it good. Do this two months leading up to gun season. My hunting rifles go with to the range once a week for a month(after load development/zeroing) for a single shot. Using same target, if I see a shot impact that doesn't fall into group/zero I do a box/tracking type test, after checking any screws on the whole rifle that are torqued. Currently doing this with a rifle for elk season, will carry it suppressed, checking to see if removing/installing suppressor has any zero shift possibility. So far, 3 range trips with suppressor on/off, no zero shift. Rounds are just making the single hole bigger.
